okay im not belittling anyone that’s not close to their dads or doesn’t get along with them, that’s shitty and you all deserve parents that love you but i think the term ‘daddy issues’ has been diluted a lot, because of the paternal figures ive experienced, im terrified of being by myself with a middle aged man, it makes me uncomfortable when male teachers start talking to me or i have to see them privately, it even makes me anxious af when i have to ask my step dad for something because im so scared of how he will react. ‘daddy issues’ isn’t just not getting along with your dad, it’s so much more.
